Deep House was made with Heat Island and exhibited in The State of the Art of Architecture Milano at Triennale Milano from 16 February to 29 March 2020. Heat Island's contemporary project note describes live installation and presentations between 13 and 15 February. The project was subsequently developed through a series of participatory workshops in which contributors used shared Figma boards to help chart possible pathways for future practice. This was a workshop-based co-design process rather than a standalone online platform. The four credited contributors in the current archive are Negin Ghorbani, Luke Jones, Joseph Augustin and Christopher Burman; their individual contribution descriptions remain to be confirmed.
In 2020 the conventional timescales of architecture have become particularly hard to contemplate. Future climate projections demand profound transformations if we are to avoid catastrophe. But the actions they require are still significantly undetermined. Deep House is a project modelling the possibilities of architecture in response to climate change.
